101 in 1001

A beach in the Dominican Republic! <3

Why 1001?

Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities. To start your own, calculate the finish date here!

101 in 1001 (2011-2014)

Do you make resolutions every year? For a while now, I’ve been subscribing to 101 in 1001 instead and I think it works a lot better with my life!

Why 1001? Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to …

Love this idea! We have a few similar goals….i.e. learning to curl hair!!!
And if you go to Costa Rica, let me know!! LOVE that country so much! Such a beautiful place! Wish I was living there so often!

    1. Farrah

Glad I’m not alone on that! 😛 We’ll get there someday!

I get to go! I’m tagging along with my parents on a cruise, so we only get to be in Costa Rica for a day, but I’ll definitely take that over nothing! :D! I’ve heard so many good things about that place! :]

  2. Natalie @ Obsessive Cooking Disorder

Danggg girl, what a (well rounded) list. This is such a great idea – I have my own bucket list too all typed out (Ah the OCD medical student)

Nice work on tackling your list, one by way. Look forward to seeing you make progress 🙂

Thank you! 😀 I think we all have to be at least a little OCD to be in med school! 😛

I’ll keep chippin’ away at it! I really hope the ones under “Academic/Career” pan out! *-*

  3. Autumn

Good job on your progress towards your goals!! I always love reading other people’s 101 in 1001 🙂

    1. Farrah

Thank you! 😀 Hopefully it’ll get thinned out/completed as this/next year progresses! :]

  4. Holly

I love these goals! I also LOVE the idea of 101 in 1001 – what an awesome way to cross off your goals! Good luck with it all, sounds like you’ll have so much fun completing all of these! <3
P.S. Keep my updated on the Thai drunken noodles – they sound AMAZING! X

    1. Farrah

Thanks, Holly! It’s definitely a lot of fun, haha, and getting to look back on it to see how much I’ve managed to accomplish doubles as motivation to get the rest done! :]!

I really need to make those soon! *-*

  5. Raewyn

I love the way you categorized it! I should do that!! ALSO, I really want to try aerial, was it amazing?

    1. Farrah

Thanks! Aerial silks (and lyra!) are both so, so much fun! I’d definitely recommend it! :] Just make sure you wear long-sleeves and long pants because the fabric burns from the silks can be kinda painful. Let me know what you think!! :D!

  6. Lauren @ Lauren Runs

I love the idea of this 100 in 1001 concept! A different take on goals/resolutions… maybe I’ll take this up myself!

    1. Farrah

Yay! If you make one, let me know! I love reading 101 in 1001’s! I’m working on putting together my next one right now since this one ends pretty much at the end of this year!

  7. Diana

wow! this is awesome! YOu accomplished so many! I can not comment on your current 101 in 1001 for this year so I decided to comment here

What a wonderful idea! You always have the best creative things on your blog!

    Thank you

ps- why are some things written in italics? Just trying to figure out your coding methods )

    1. Farrah

Thanks so much, Diana! <3! I have no idea what the hecks happened to my newest 101 in 1001 when I posted it but I think I finally fixed it. (Of course this would happen the day I chose to go off the grid, hahaha.)

The ones in italics are more "continuous" goals that I don't want to just do once, since they're things/habits I want to incorporate consistently into my life! :D!

  8. Tara

    Hey Farrah!

This bucket list is a fantastic idea! One thing that I’ve always wanted to do is to do more travelling around the world. Actually, I haven’t been outside the US and I’m almost terrified to hop on a plane somewhere else. What do you do to overcome your more challenging goals?

    1. Farrah

Hi! Thank you! 😀 I hope you get to do some more traveling!

I break it up into these 101 in 1001s since it feels a lot more feasible with “small” somewhat more short-termgoals vs. a whole bunch of ginormous ones far off into the future!
