Tiramisu Oatmeal

Welcome to our weekly Foodie Friday link up! I’m linking up with Annmarie from the Fit Foodie Mama, Esther from Chocolate Runner Girl + Jess from Hello To Fit to create awesome healthy recipes each week! This week’s theme = Choctoberfest!

One of my favorite desserts in the world = tiramisu. <3 I’ve made it in french toast form and had it made for me for one of my birthdays in the past. It is wonderful in every way. :O

Since we’re celebrating Choctoberfest this week (if you haven’t entered the giveaway, go do that now! Just for the record, there’s going to be a double-linkup today for both Choctoberfest and Foodie Friday!

I had the pleasure of working with Barleans again this year (they’re a company that makes health supplements, and a portion of their proceeds goes to a number of different organizations dedicated to helping those that are less fortunate!) I used their Chocolate Silk Greens to make my Chocolate Mint Chex Mix (also made possible by pilfering giant bags of chex mix from the hospital <3 ).

…But tiramisu isn’t quite complete without coffee! As a resident, I’m somewhat of an anomaly with my peers because I rarely drink coffee (I save it for life-or-sleep situations!), but it’s not because I don’t enjoy the taste of it! I just regulate because I’m sure there will be days where I’m really going to need it to stay awake. :]

So in comes Caveman Coffee! You [probably] know that I’m a fan of sustainable living and MMA (two of the owners are MMA fighters and the third is a stunt trainer! :O ) Their coffee beans are grown under the UTZ certification + Rainforest Alliance protocols. :]

  • Add instant coffee, cocoa powder + sweetener. Mix until fully incorporated, and refrigerate overnight.
  • Before eating, combine Greek yogurt, chocolate powder and honey. Slowly add milk until a thick sauce is formed.
  • Top over oatmeal mixture, sprinkle with cacao butter, and enjoy!

Notes

*I ground up some of Caveman Coffee's White Gold coffee beans for this!

    1. haha, I like the smell and taste of it, but it just functions so well as a life-or-sleep remedy that I can’t help wanting to preserve that! :P Most of my closest friends in med school were all coffee fiends! :P

  9. Tiramisu?! Yes, please! It’s been so long since I had tiramisu, mostly because the hubby doesn’t enjoy it. :( I think this would be a great way for me to get my fix in.
