Queens Garden and Navajo Loop Trail

Welcome to Travel Tuesday! Come join me virtually for a hike through Bryce Canyon National Park today through the Queens Garden and Navajo Loop Trail!

Queens Garden and Navajo Loop Trail in Bryce Canyon National Park

Distance: 2.6 miles (loop)
Elevation: 623 ft
Difficulty: Moderate
Duration: ~2-3 hours
Trailhead Address: 37.6234, -112.16723
Parking:
Lot available, but would recommend using the shuttle if you can!

You’ll want to start at Sunset Point and hike left along the canyon rim until you reach Sunrise Point. It’s pretty flat here and offers expansive views over Bryce Canyon.
Follow the Queens Garden Trail down (~320 foot descent) until you reach a 4-way intersection at the very bottom of the canyon. You’ll be walking amongst all the hoodoos.

If you’re going in the summer like we did, make sure you bring plenty of water! Getting there earlier can also help you escape some of the crowds and avoid the afternoon heat.

Sorry, I like to be really serious.

We went up through the Navajo Loop so that we could check out Two Bridges + Thor’s Hammer! (You can also go up via Wall Street, but you’ll hear about that in ~2 weeks!)

(P.S. Hiking the opposite way, aka down Wall Street and up Queens Garden is NOT recommended as it isn’t safe! Please also keep in mind that Wall Street is closed during the winter months!)

Incredible! I’m so jealous of all these beautiful places you get to hike.
And what’s up with Thor’s hammer? Haha! Was anything filmed here or does his hammer look like one of the rock formations? I think I saw a pic that might look like his hammer.

So beautiful! Next time I’m coming.😉

    1. It was a reallyyyy fun trip (that honestly kinda feels like a lifetime ago even though it was only just last year!)!

haha, I think it was just because it looked like his hammer! I wasn’t sure if I identified it/took a picture of it, but there were some formations that looked like they could’ve been it! :P

That’d be so much fun! :]!!

Yeah, you have two pics that look like they could be the hammer. You’re posing in front of it in one. Is that it? 🤔

        1. That’s the one I thought might be it but I’m still not sure, ahaha. :P

  3. This trail sounds great! We visited Bryce Canyon many years ago but only stayed overnight so we didn’t have the chance to hike much. It’s definitely on my list to go back to!

    1. Ahh, I hope you get a chance to go back there again sometime! <3!

  4. I did this hike in May in the middle of a late-season snowstorm. It was amazing to see the white collect on the spires. But the slickrock got pretty slippery after awhile. Awesome time though.
