Yay for anotherĀ Ultimate Coffee Date! I’m back from my Vietnam trip and I guess that trip has finally done the trick on getting me back to blogging again outside of these coffee date posts! :P (Took long enough?!)
Ultimate Coffee Date: June 2023
We went on 2 multi-day cave camping trips — this was from the second one! It’s a ~295 ft drop below me.
If we were having coffee/tea today, Iād tell you that…Vietnam was a ton of fun and the trip of a lifetime. I have so much to write about!! I’m trying not to be overly ambitious so my hope is to be able to commit to 2 Travel Tuesday posts per month so I won’t get overwhelmed and abandon ship again. Maybe someday I’ll eventually get back to doing it every week (+ cooking for Foodie Friday…).
I’m also proud to report that I did indeed manage to return with my limbs intact and no food poisoning. However, I did have somewhat of a moped accident and ended up with a sprained ankle and a somewhat messed up knee (sigh…).
If we were having coffee/tea today, Iād tell you that…I didn’t get a whole lot of souvenirs since I packed everything for the 2+ week trip into a 60L backpack, but I did get a tiny nĆ³n lĆ” (leaf hat) for Muffin! (I could not resist — it was way too cute to resist.)
If we were having coffee/tea today, Iād tell you that…my mom has been feeding stray cats for several years now and over the past couple years, we’ve acquired a few other species who like to come by (namely, crows, opossums, and skunks). Our most recent species though is this little guy (girl?)!

I’d love to read more about your Vietnam trip, so I hope you do a full post on it! I’m pretty adventurous but that hanging upside down photo might be a little bit much for me!

We packed a lotttt into our couple weeks there so it’s gonna be several different posts, hehe. I’ve only churned out 2 so far, but I’m working on the rest! :D
Thank you! Bruises have all faded but my ankle is still a little messed up so I’ve just been doing suuper gentle range of motion exercises with it!
I saw some of your travel pics and would love to h ear more about your trip! Vietnam is definitely on my bucket list.

Ahh, I hope you get to go sometime! I loved it there and definitely want to go back. I’ll be writing more posts about it in the coming weeks! :]
Wow, a turtle! That’s kind of cool. Sorry about the moped accident – that looks really painful.
Muffin does not look impressed. :)
My mom got some veggies to give to the turtle but it disappeared! I hope it found its owner (or if its wild, I hope it’s ok)!
The accident part wasn’t too fun but I’m mostly healed up now, thankfully!

I rarely buy souvenirs but I try to take a ton of pictures with the intention of doing a photo book ( but that never happens..lol).
The tiny hat is adorable. I probably would have bought something for my pet too!

That photo is everything!
I’m not a huge souvenir person: sometimes I’ll get a piece of art or jewelry or a Christmas ornament, but that’s it. I’m more about the photos and experiences.
My favorite trip to date is a tie between Acadia National Forest in Maine and Venice, Italy. But I have so many more places i’d love to see.

Moped accident aside, it looks like you had fun in Viet Nam! Muffin in her hat is too cute! Viet Nam is definitely on my bucket list. That’s so funny the turtle showed up for some snacks too! Haha!

France was my most memorable trip… I have been many times but it always calls me back. And yes with running, I always pack too much. Nope on the souvenirs.

It’s a gorgeous place! :] There are a lot of spots that keep calling me back — I know I just came back from a vacation but I’m already hoping to go on another one, haha.
