Maple Roasted Pears with Balsamic Vinegar

Welcome to Foodie Fridays! This week’s theme is…Use Your Leftovers! I’m sharing a suuuuper easy + delicious 4-ingredient recipe for Maple Roasted Pears with Balsamic Vinegar today!

Technically speaking, the pears were not leftovers, but this was from our trip to Berkeley Bowl two months ago! Although we’ve made things with pear before (e.g. Raspberry Pear Marscapone Toast and Pear + Fig Baked Brie Dip), I’d never tried actually roasting pears before. What better time to be roasting fruit than fall?

This was another one of the recipes my best friend and I made during our ginormous feast. (Make sure you check out the Creamy Gruyere Linguine with Spinach, Mushrooms + Caramelized Onions too!)

I haven’t fully written about the Carmel Food Tour yet (in due time, I promise!), but one of the stops was Trio Carmel, where we picked up some fancy schmancy different-flavored olive oil and balsamic vinegar, so I figured I’d try using them on these pears.

Maple Roasted Pears with Balsamic Vinegar

Ingredients

  • 4 pears halved
  • 3-4 tsp maple syrup*
  • drizzle of grapefruit balsamic vinegar
  • fresh basil thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Cut pears in half and place them onto a baking sheet. Scoop out the seeds.
  • Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and maple syrup.
  • Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes.
  • Top with fresh basil and serve!

Notes

*If you don't need it to be vegan and prefer honey, you could use that too!
Wanna get super fancy? Sprinkle with cinnamon and add some roughly chopped walnuts!
