Ultimate Coffee Date: June 2022

Welcome to another Ultimate Coffee Date of 2022! How are we already in June!?

Ultimate Coffee Date: June 2022

Wild irises from our front yard! :]

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…tell you that we’ve officially moved into our house!!! We finished unpacking the last box a couple days ago and are mostly just tidying up and trying to tie up loose ends (the list feels endless right now, but we’re chipping away slowly!).

Our saddest goodbye from where we were living = the neighborhood cat. He’s super cute/fluffy and very friendly, so we’d invariably encounter him on our night strolls around the neighborhood and he’d headbutt us for pats + walk with us for a bit!

My parents came to help us move in so we treated them to dim sum — we happened to stop by a tea shop before leaving and ended up meeting a super cool guy there! He is basically a master when it comes to tea and we ended up talking for hours. As our luck would have it, his day job = an electrician and we happened to be looking for one of those so it worked out rather perfectly.

We got these solar lights (affiliate link!) for the front + backyard and put em’ up today so it wouldn’t be quite so pitch-black outside.

A number of our neighbors have stopped by to say hello and to welcome us to the neighborhood! I don’t think I’ve met so many of my neighbors since I was in my childhood home! (+ because this is a very smallll world, one of my new neighbors happens to be someone I went to college with!

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…tell you that our home gym is officially under way! We lay down the floor for it last week (horse stall mats from Tractor Supply–not pictured) — those suckers were 100 lbs apiece, so that was legit a workout all on its own. As the rest of the equipment comes in, we’re excited to put this all together. :D

I know it doesn’t look like much right now, but it will soon! *-*

Congratulations 🎊 So very happy for you@

    1. Thank you!!! <3

  1. Love dim sum, although it’s been a really long time! I’ve really never had neighbors welcome me to a neighborhood — not even in TX where people really are friendlier. Moving is tough!

One of my friends here, who is about 5 years older than me, happens to be from the same town as me. Lots of other parallels in our lives, too!

    1. It really is! It was super nice of people to stop by — I’m generally terrible with names so I really hope I remembered em’ correctly, hehe. I haven’t ever had people come by to welcome us to the neighborhood either other than when I was in West Virginia for school (my neighbors were my classmates, so dunno if that really counts, haha).

That’s really cool! It was a fun coincidence — they’re off on a trip but we’re planning to catch up when they’re back! :]

Congrats on your new house!! That’s awesome. Congrats on the electrician too because I’m sure a good electrician is hard to find. Ha!
That kitty kat fluff is adorable! I would so miss that kitty too and also I feel like you’ve been holding out on showing off that kitty. I feel like I’ve missed out.😉 If there are any new kitties in your new neighborhood, do share!😅
Congrats again on your house. Sounds like a great summer so far!

    1. Thank youuu! They are, and it’s great to find someone who’s so dependable and affordable! :O

Sorry! He moves around so quickly that all the other times I’ve tried taking pictures of him, he usually ends up being at least a partial-blur, haha. I haven’t scouted too many kitties over here but there are lots of cute dogs! (Including one named Cowboy who will come into our garage to say hello if he’s out for a walk and we have the door open!)

It’s definitely been busy, but eventful (mostly in good ways)! :]
