A Movie Night At Home with G.H. Cretors Popcorn

It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to kick back and watch a movie. I think the last movie I saw in the theaters was…Deadpool? I still reallyyyyy want to see Moana, La La Land, and Beauty and the Beast, but alas. I typically end up watching movies at home in my bed on my laptop with Princess Muffin curled up on my keyboard (…) or next to me. (She’s not much of a lap-sitter.)

As you possibly know by now, I love and adore popcorn, as evidenced by some of my past recipes (my two faves being Cake Batter Popcorn + Hurricane Popcorn–go enter the giveaway on the latter one! ;P ) It’s one of my favorite snacks and there are few things that go more perfectly with a movie night!

Disclaimer: I received a movie night kit  from G.H. Cretors for free, but as per usual, all thoughts + opinions are mine and mine alone!

With a crazy hectic schedule, there are definitely days where you don’t want to have to deal with the hassle of making your own though, even if it theoretically doesn’t take long–I just don’t want to have to do anything other than sit back and relax (y’know, those “treat yo’self” nights)! And that’s where G.H. Cretors comes in! :]

G.H. Cretors popcorn roots date all the way back to the 1893–the year where the first successful open heart surgery was performed without anesthesia (what what?!). But I digress. Charles Cretors unveiled the very first commercial popcorn maker at the Chicago Worldā€™s Fair, and his great-great granddaughter popped the first batch of flavors 40 years later–now known as G.H. Cretors Popped Corn! :]

Popcorn is apparently the official snack of the state of Illinois so that’s basically further reasoning for why I should go visit there someday so I can find delicious foods and meet some of my blends (Susie, Tiffany, Erica, I’m lookin’ at you!)!

Originally, I’d planned to spend my day off last week as a relaxing movie night, but as life tends to get in the way, I instead spent it running errands and also hanging out with one of my college friends/”being his Uber” before he moved away.

Twas a day filled with delicious eats and good company, so I definitely can’t complain! ;P

I got to try out G.H. Cretor’s “Just the Cheese” and “The Mix” (cheddar cheese + caramel)…and also received a super soft blanket that Muffin has since claimed…and also Arrival and Moonlight, neither of which I’d had a chance to see!

…Speaking of Muffin, she really, really wanted my popcorn. Look at that intense expression!!

I actually opened “Just the Cheese” a couple days before our designated movie night and decimated half the bag before I made myself hide it away so Trish could try some too. This is saying a lot because I usually am not a fan of cheddar…but in popcorn form? Bring it! Cheddar and caramel in “The Mix” might sound a bit strange together, but it worked really well! (I love sweet-salty snack combos!)

It is entirely too easy to eat this all in one sitting. If you want to avoid doing this, invite some friends over. :P

Their artisanal popcorn is made in small batches from non-GMO ingredients and are 100% gluten-free! :] G.H. Cretor popcorn’s selection of flavors include: Organic Chile JalapeƱo White Cheddar, Organic Dill Pickle, Just the Caramel, Just the Cheese, The Mix, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and a few new flavors (Organic White Cheddar, Organic Honey Butter Kettlecorn, Organic Salted Butter).

I want that honey butter kettlecorn in my life. *-* Thankfully, I’m actually living in an area where I no longer have to drive 2 hours to reach a Target (it can also be found at Walgreens, Rite Aid, BJs…you can find G.H. Cretors popcorn using their store locator!)

P.S. I’m sorry I don’t have a Foodie Friday recipe for you this week, but life has been super crazy! Go check out Annmarie and Esther’s recipes for the week! :]
