Ultimate Coffee Date: September 2019

Welcome to the Ultimate Coffee Date! …Two Ultimate Coffee Dates have passed and…I’m still on my road trip!

Ultimate Coffee Date: September 2019

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…tell you that I swear I do plan to go home soon. I miss my family and friends, but…it’s been awesome getting to visit friends along the way! One of my pit stops was to hang out with one of my friends in Tucson, and it just so happened that she was heading to Phoenix at the same time I was, so I got to save on getting an Airbnb there!

This is their cat, Floof!

Part of my excitement about returning is due to the fact that I’m going to be going back to the place where I used to volunteer at as a medical interpreter (Paul Hom Asian Clinic)…to volunteer as a doctor! :D! You can read a little more about it here, and I’m sure to be writing about it after I actually go there. <3 The medical director there wrote one of my recommendation letters to get into medical school! It’s like coming full-circle! :]

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…tell you that I don’t think I’m much of a shopper when it comes to clothes, buttt…my weaknesses are as follows:

  • Grocery stores (because I adore food)
  • Used bookstores
  • Skin care stores (with things that smell nice)
  • Craft stores

It’s a bad idea to leave me in these stores unattended. (My parents used to leave me and my brother at bookstores in the afternoon in lieu of daycare when they needed to run errands!)

In other food-related news, I finally went to a Vegas buffet for the first time! My family went there without me (…) a couple years back to take advantage of one of those 24 hour eat-at-all-the-buffets Groupon deal. I’m pretty sad that they didn’t bring me since I can arguably eat more than all of them, but at least I finally got to go!

This was round 1.

If we were having coffee/tea today, I’d…tell you that I’ve been trying to keep track of all the places I’ve visited and all the things I’ve been doing each day so I’ll be able to write about it later, with varying degrees of success. So far, I believe I’ve visited…15 national parks, 4(?) state parks, and gone on over 75 hikes.

That’s gonna be a lottttt of future blog posts, and I also have a tonnnn of things I gotta do once I finally get home. Good thing I’m still not gonna be starting my job until a little less than 2 months from now?!

  1. I love a grocery store! I’m weirdly obsessed with going to different regional versions whenever I travel!

    1. Oh, they’re the best! I love seeing what I can find and what’s different! :]

  2. I’ve loved following your travels on FB! You have been to so may gorgeous places! I love browsing in boutique stores with things that have silly sayings. For similar reasons I like the t-shirt shops at the beach, although some of those sayings are pretty raunchy. 8-)

    1. It’s been super fun! I’m kinda sad that it’s over but I do still have some time to play, so we’re good! :P

      Ooo, I love those too–especially on socks/tea towels/t-shirts! :P
