2025 was a really rough year for me, so I think I was very much using reading to escape. I think taking over for hosting the My Month Is Booked linkup helped as well! Kinda hard to host if I’m not reading, yes? :D…
My goal was to read 52 books and I managed to surpass that goal to make it to 74! I’m still gonna make my 2026 goal to read 52 books. I don’t like the added stress of potentially not making a goal! :P
2025 Reading Wrap-Up

This isn’t quite all of em’, but this is what Fable gave me + I like giant book collages. :D
For the “prettiest” read, A Letter to the Luminous Deep had an absolutely gorgeous cover, but as far as words go, I really enjoyed Divine Rivals. (It looks like this was very loved by a lot of other people as well!)

This one made me laugh. I’m very certain there are places where I’d get skewered if they saw me post this, but I like to think my own blog is a pretty safe place? I did force myself to finish the book, but I detested the main character too much to continue the series.

Truth be told, it was really hard to pick a single favorite book — there were so many that I adored (+ also some that weren’t quite my cup of tea). I decided to break down my favorites by genre! :]

My favorite new author I discovered this year would definitely have to be Alex Finlay. I don’t think I read any books that were universally loved that I hated or disliked.
As of now, these are some of the new releases that I know of coming out this year that I’m looking forward to reading this year:
Anatomy of an Alibi -Asley Elston
Interleague Play –Megan Cousins
We’re A Bad Idea, Right -K.L. Walther
The summer of Second Chance s-K.L. Walther
No Matter What -Cara Bastone
Finlay Donovan Crosses the Line –Elle Cosimano
Unapologetic Love Story –Elle McNicoll
First & Forever –Lynn Painter
Our Perfect Storm –Carley Fortune
Change of Plans –Sarah Dessen
The Anniversary –Alex Finlay
The Shippers –Katherine Center
Helpless –Jessica Knoll
Oo, you got a lot of em’! The only one I’ve heard of is Anatomy of an Alibi but I’ll probably read Change of Plans and The Anniversary too — have liked those authors’ books in the past!
