Sustainable Fall Fashion with prAna

Not too many people know this(?), but I was supposed to be a summer baby. Apparently, I was just too excited to get a move on with starting life, so I was instead born at 30 weeks. Given my adoration for sunny skies and warm weather, summer has always been my favorite season.

…but given the amount of time I’ve spent living on the east coast, fall has become a very close second. (Summers on this end of the country are super humid! x_x I love fall foods (check out my “Fall Flavors” post for Foodie Friday if you haven’t already!), and an extra plus = sustainable fall fashion!

I was sent the Ariel Dress in Sangria Taos and the Jenna Pant in Sahara Sand. They fit true to size, which is definitely a relief when you’re shopping for clothes online! <3 (I have a 15% discount for you at the bottom! :D )

I’ve talked before about prAna and how much I love their passion for sustainable living…this definitely hasn’t changed (thankfully!)!

prAna‘s bluesign clothing ensures that both the environment and the people creating/wearing their products are protected. They trace where the material comes from, eliminate wood fibors from endangered forest regions, avoid using unnecessary packaging. I like that I don’t have to cut through a bunch of bags and  tags to get to the clothing, and yay for less waste!

The Ariel Dress is made of a recycled polyester blend lightweight performance stretch jersey with wicking. I typically shy away from empire waisted clothing because I feel like it runs the risk of making me look preggers (something I never want to be), but I really like how this is tapered for a flattering fit! When it cools down a bit more, I can just wear it with a cardigan + leggings and I’ll be all set! :]

Buying clothing made from recycled materials helps to reduce your carbon footprint–less energy and water is used to create them + yay for less greenhouse gas emissions!

Like the Ariel Dress, the Jenna Pants are super effing comfortable–so much so that I actually decided to wear them over yoga pants. (To me, this is a really big deal because, if you didn’t know, I’d totally live in yoga pants if it were socially acceptable.)

The fact that it has functional pockets definitely doesn’t hurt either! *-* One major gripe I have about girl-pants is that the pockets are essentially useless. I get that they do this because they’re trying to make us buy purses, but I hate carrying bags around. (This is probably how I lost my wallet 2 months ago. ._. It has since been found though, but if I’d had pockets that actually worked like with these pants, it wouldn’t have been an issue!)

I chose “Sahara Sand” since I don’t have anything in that color, but they also come in Cargo Green, Coal, and Black! (I want one in every color. >_>)
