Old Favorites at the GFAF Expo

Happy Monday! I’m back to recap on the GFAF Expo that I mentioned in a previous post! I’ll be covering some of my old favorites at the GFAF Expo in this post, but stay tuned for another on some of my favorite new finds!

I received free entry into the GFAF Expo, but as always, all thoughts + opinions are mine and mine alone!

As with the last few years, the expo took place at the Meadowlands Expo Center (with free parking–something I’ve definitely come to appreciate since leaving WV!). I didn’t make it to the blogger welcome last year due to being scheduled to work a 24 hour shift, but my schedule actually let me go on the first day this year!

Old Favorites at the GFAF Expo

Bio K Plus sponsored our free breakfast of fruit, coffee, apple cider, and cookies, and also gave us gift bags! :]

There were cards on the tables with each of the vendors that listed the allergens that were in their products. (I don’t actually have any food restrictions/allergies that I know of, but this was definitely helpful information for most of the attendees!)

I came across a lot of old favorites as well as many new discoveries! As the title suggests, I’ll be talking about my old favorites first–the new ones will come in another post! :]

Bob’s Red Mill

Bob’s Red Mill has long been a favorite of mine, and offers a whole host of different products–you name it, and they probably have it! This includes all kinds of…

  • Flours (almond, masa harina, coconut, hazelnut, cassava, gluten-free, paleo, whole wheat, all-purpose, pastry…)
  • Cereals (paleo pancake/waffle mix, oatmeal cups in a variety of different flavors, protein nutritional boosters, chia seeds, oatmeals, nutritional boosters with protein…)
  • Grains, Beans + Seeds (quinoa, red quinoa, whole grain teff, kamut berries, farro, freekeh, hulled millet, amaranth grain, buckwheat groats, bulgur, spelt berries…)

Honey Stinger

I may or may not eat the Honey Stinger energy chews as though they’re candy. They taste just like candy. They are amazing. ‘Nuff said. I also love that the company gives back to different organizations that care about the planet! They also have a variety of organic waffles(!), bars, energy gels, and organic honey! As you can probably/hopefully tell from their name, honey is a key ingredient in their products.

I’ve taste tested a good number of different flavors of the energy chews over the last couple years, and it’s really hard to go wrong. If I absolutely had to choose a favorite, I’d go with the pomegranate passionfruit (but I’m biased towards all things passionfruit in case you haven’t noticed with this post..), and their newest strawberry flavor!

Banza

Banza Pasta is one of my favorite pasta brands out there (I just wish it were a tad bit less expensive!). Their pasta is made from only 4 ingredients: chickpeas, tapioca, pea protein, and xanthan gum.

A typical 2oz serving contains 14 grams of protein(!) and 8 grams of fiber!! They come in a variety of different shapes (linguine, spaghetti, wheels, rotini, rigatoni, elbows, ziti, cavatappi, shells & cheddar, mac & cheese…)!

Brazi Bites

I talk about Brazi Bites a lot, and anyone who knew me throughout high school and most of college would be surprised, since I used to hate cheese. Because this is cheese bread (Brazilian)–at its finest!

It comes in 4 different flavors: Cheddar & Parmesan, Garlic Asiago, Zesty Pepper Jack, and 3 Cheese Pizza. Don’t ask me to pick a favorite because I can’t. They’re available at Costco, which is always a plus too. Just bake these for 20 minutes and you have yourself an amazing appetizer/snack!

Unreal

UnReal is what you want in your life if you’re craving candy but would like it to be healthier. Their products are non-GMO verified, certified gluten-free, vegan, and contain only sustainable, organic, and fair-trade ingredients.

From dark chocolate peanut or almond butter cups (cripsy version available too!) to dark chocolate peanut gems or crispy peanut gems, they have something to satisfy your chocolate cravings!

Ronzoni

I take a photo with Ronzoni pretty much every single year at GFAF. :P Their typical pastas are made of only two ingredients (flour + egg), and they have a variety of different lines, including a gluten-free line (made of white rice, brown rice, corn and quinoa) and the “healthy harvest” line (just one ingredient–whole wheat). I haven’t had a chance to check out their veggie pastas yet, but I’m definitely curious about em’!
