Maple Syrup

Adam made maple syrup somewhere last week and gave me some (along with pumpkin pie, homemade whipped cream w/ Madagascar vanilla, and a fruit glaze for meat) because he is full of awesome. Last year, he left me a container of this and some homemade goodies on my porch and texted me something along the lines of, “If you were a regular female, you’d probably propose.”

Damn straight! :O The best way to get to my heart is definitely through my stomach (or, well, my tastebuds, really). I’m really gonna miss having him as my neighbor. :o I’ve been so spoiled.

Maple Syrup

Ingredients:
-1 cup water
-1 1/4 cups brown sugar
-3/4 cup white sugar
-1-2 tsp maple extract (~1 1/2 tbsp if it’s imitation)
-a couple drops vanilla extract

Instructions:
1) Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Cook and stir until sugar has dissolved.
2) Remove from heat + stir in maple + vanilla extract.
