Garden of the Gods Garden Loop Trail

Welcome to Travel Tuesday! I’m slowly but surely virtually making it to a different destination each week from my road trip last year. If this were in real time, it’d be ~end-of-July-ish right now and I’d have just returned from CA (for my friend’s bachelorette party) and then back to Colorado Springs to check out the Garden of the Gods Garden Loop Trail!

I miss you, vitamin D!

Garden of the Gods Garden Loop Trail

Distance: 3.7 mile loop
Elevation: 416 feet
Difficulty: Easy
Admission: Free
Parking: Free (get there early if you want parking!)
Trailhead Address: 38.8817000, -104.8805700

I came here early in the morning on a summer day so I’d be sure to have parking and also hopefully be able to beat some of the crowds there. This is definitely a popular trail for hiking/jogging, and you can see a lot of the main formations that make up the Garden of the Gods.

I’d love to go back here again someday to explore some more and to take more photos. A lot of the ones I took don’t do it enough justice! (I need to work on doing more than just point and shoot, haha.)

You’ll likely be able to see some climbers too! I was actually pretty tempted to take a climbing class here but didn’t really want an audience, so I decided against it. (I really need to go climbing again sometime though! It’s been too long!)

I know I mentioned that dogs weren’t allowed ( :[ ) over at Rocky Mountain National Park, but they are very much allowed here!!

Have you ever been to Colorado Springs! One of the absolute must-sees is Garden of the Gods--come check out the Garden of the Gods Garden Loop Trail! #gardenofthegods #coloradosprings #colorado #travel

  1. I was lucky enough to get to go to Denver with a friend all the way back in 2005, and we stopped at Pike’s Peak and Garden of the Gods on the way back to our home state. One of my favorite places! One of these days I’d love to go back. Glad you enjoyed it <3

I’m dying to do more national parks, forest service, etc this year in the US. Everything just looks so incredible! Love the dramatic rocks and that red sand! Seems like you had a lovely time!

    1. It was such a beautiful place to visit! :] hoping Iā€™ll get to go back soon!

  6. Ahh, I really need to head over to the west coast some time in my life haha. Everything seems to look better on the other side. Was the air dry there?

    1. If you’re coming from the east coast, it’s definitely gonna feel more dry in comparison, but I didn’t find it super super dry!
