One Day in Chicago

Welcome to another Travel Tuesday! This past summer was my first time going to Chicago! I didn’t get to spend too much time there, but I got to meet up with two friends and do some exploring. Check out what I did with one day in Chicago!

One Day in Chicago

I started the day off by meeting up with Erica (yay for blogger meetups!) for brunch over at Yolk!

I found someone who was on a short layover and we traded being touristy photographers for each other. What first-time visit to Chicago is complete without a visit to Cloud Gate (otherwise known as The Bean!)? :P

The Bean is located in Millennium Park (201 E Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60602)!

I also walked over to Grant Park and Maggie Daley Park, which has a number of different themed playgrounds, a rock wall, skating rink, and tennis courts! (They’re all pretty close to each other.)

There’s also the Chicago Picasso, which is an untitled sculpture by Picasso that stands at 50 feet and weighs 162 tons!

Since I was there in July, it was pretttyyyy hot, so I spent a lot of time walking along the Chicago Riverwalk! It has a bunch of outdoor bars, restaurants, public art, museums, and you can also go kayaking or for a boat ride!

The Riverwalk is a 3.4 mile out and back trail that’s free and accessible year-round!

Afterward, I met up with one of my med school friends for a late lunch before driving off to Wisconsin.Ā I’m definitely hoping to go back again at some point to explore some more. I’d love to go check out the Chicago Architecture Tour someday!

  5. How fun! I love Chicago and I hope to go back again next summer. The first time I went, I took a boat tour, which was fun – but cold! LOL Definitely the Windy City for a reason.

    1. hahaha, that definitely makes sense! If I go back in the fall, I’m definitely going to have to layer up!

  6. I love Chicago and Iā€™m also in Medicine. A couple cool things that I have enjoyed in Chicago are the Art Institute, the outdoor Chagall mosaic mural and the architecture boat tour. All amazing!
