Cheyenne and Grandview Trail Loop

Welcome to Travel Tuesday! I’m still virtually on the Colorado Springs portion of my road trip from last summer, so we’re gonna be going through the Cheyenne and Grandview Trail Loop today!

Colorado Springs is an outdoor lover’s dream–there’s so much to do everywhere! There are actually something around 25 miles of trails over in the Palmer Park area, which is located only a couple miles northeast of the downtown area (and maybe like…a 10 minute drive, if even, from the hostel I was staying at).

Distance: 1.8 mile loop
Elevation: 183 feet
Difficulty: Easy
Admission: Free
Parking: Free
Trailhead Address: 38.8733700, -104.7770000

If you’re looking for a short hike that’s away from all the crowds, this one’s a definite contender! I barely ran into anyone while I was trekking around out here!

Another plus side to this trail is also that it’s both dog and horse-friendly! :] I have neither (although I’d love to have both someday, haha–one can dream…).

You can also go mountain biking here if you so choose! :] It was intermittently raining on the afternoon that I went, but thankfully it wasn’t too slippery anywhere. (Be careful on the more gravelly sections!)

Full disclosure: I may have gotten a tad bit lost somehow due to a little unintentional meandering, but minus the heat, it was fun to explore anyway!
