Apple Cinnabread

Two years ago, I was hanging out with Rachel & Jaclyn in LA (shortly after we graduated from UC Davis!) and we decided to recreate Woodstocks’ Apple Cinnabread.

The details of this are now extremely fuzzy, but I’m going to try to include a rough/vague impression of what we used. (Compliments to Jaclyn. :P)

I guess this recipe could technically be considered as “cheating” since you basically don’t have to make anything from scratch (unless you count the powdered sugar glaze), but it was very much an “instant gratification” sort of dessert, so we’re gonna go with it! :O

Ingredients:

  • 1 package pizza dough
  • cinnamon, to taste
  • 1-2 cans Comstock (apples)

(Powdered Sugar Glaze)

  • powdered sugar
  • drizzle of warm water or milk
  • dash of vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Roll out pizza dough onto a baking dish and add Comstock apple pie filling. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  2. Mix together powdered sugar glaze mixture and use a fork to drizzle it over the cinnabread. (If you want to get all fancy, you can pour it into a ziploc bag, cut off the tip and pipe it over.)
  3. Bake according to package directions and serve warm!

Sounds good, then what after step 2 LOL I’m very literal with directions, even though at times tweak them :) Yolanda

    1. hahaha, I didn’t even realize that I didn’t put baking instructions/times there. o_o Sorry about that! I think we just followed the baking instructions on the pizza dough package, but I believe setting the oven to 350 and checking in 5-ish minute intervals after 15 minutes should work! (It’s been a while, so I’m not entirely sure. :[ )

This is a great idea – it sure looks like you slaved in the kitchen and the result may be just as good, in fact, better, because you don’t have too much clean up. I’d like to try it!
