Waffles

I was greedy (and also made too much batter/wasn’t sure if I could make 3 full ones), my first one ballooned to a size that I’m very sure should not have happened. As in, the waffle iron could not close because it was too fat. :'( That’ll show me to do that again. But practice makes perfect, right? (My dad was wondering why I bothered to take a picture of my failures.)

In the days to come, I hope to experiment with making all kinds of different waffles (I actually wanted to make oatmeal waffles, or protein waffles, but my blender was playing camouflage with a giant white bowl in a cupboard not meant for the vertically challenged), so for today, I stuck with this. This recipe is about as simple as it can possibly get, and came from…the user manual for my waffle iron.

Waffles

Ingredients:
-1 cup flour (I currently don’t have any whole wheat flour :[ so I’m trying to use this up before I get that)
-2 eggs
-1 tbsp ground flax seed
-1 cup soy milk

Instructions:
1) Mix all ingredients and pour 1/2 – 2/3 (aka don’t be like me and try to fill in all the little holes) cup of batter into waffle iron.
2) Top with…applesauce, honey, fruit, something, anything. O: They taste a slight bit bland when served with nothin’.

Notice my waffle iron’s many beads of perspiration. :[

He is of the non-stick variety! How I adore Proctor-Silex 26500. :O

I’m thinking of using my waffle iron to make 雞蛋仔. Obviously, it won’t come out looking quite like them, but at the very least, it’ll taste like it! O:
