thanksgiving 2012

Keat: Remember the thanksgiving we had at top of the hub and ate our own pies lolool and watched super vampire diaries?

I have awesome friends, haha. That’s what we did last year when I went to Boston to hang out with him for thanksgiving (because again, I was too poor to go home for just a couple days).

By “watched super vampire diaries,” he really means that we became complete basement dwellers and didn’t do anything that weekend other than consume massive quantities of food, start and finish all the vampire diaries episodes there were at the time, as well as a couple movies, Grimm and X-men cartoons. As I said, we’re awesome. Don’t judge us.

This year, I decided to drive to North Carolina to hang out with 2/3 of my favorite cousins. :D

I originally planned to leave yesterday morning, but got sidetracked for a number of reasons. Part of it was due to the fact that I am fast becoming a cat lady (look at what I found lounging on my porch!):

The other reason was that my neighbor asked me what I was going to do with Kitler (since I was only going to be gone for 1.5-2 days, I figured leaving him with a crap ton of food + water and changing his litter box/adding a bunch of litter right before I left would do the trick. He offered to take Kitler home with him, or to check up on him when he came back tomorrow (whatta nice soul :O ), so I gave him my spare key, and he gave me some snacks to take on the road with me!

I never knew they made honey mustard pringles, but these things will be the death of me. I discovered their existence at Adam’s the other day, so he got me a thing of those to take on the road with me. The smaller bag is of these pumpkin spice almonds (holy shit they are wonderful :O ), and the cord was so I could connect my tablet to my car so I could listen to CV lectures along the way.

The drive wasn’t too bad–only 3 hours. It mostly consisted of me realizing how long it’s been since I’ve driven on a road with more than one lane (…), and I talked to people on the phone for virtual car company so I would stay awake (with one headphone in, so it wasn’t illegal, kids).

I got to North Carolina in the afternoon and found a used video game/book/video store that I definitely loitered in longer than I needed to. I also found some awesome tea, so I got several to try, mostly just to give as gifts though.

Here’s my super-cute niece! She’s grown so much! Her cheeks are as big as ever, and she definitely has a sort of Dragonball Z thing going with her hair (it’s awesome). We had dinner at home yesterday, where I consumed Asian food (sushi + Thai curry with rice!) for the first time since…uh, August 1st, I think. The things I’ve learned to live without. :O It’s weird how I didn’t even notice that until recently.

Haley in her spaceship! (bouncer thingy)

We went to Whole Foods today to food it up for tonight. The cashier asked us how many people the food was for, and when Terry answered “Three,” she looked wildly alarmed.
F: I eat a lot! :D
C: Where do you keep it!?

My cousins hella spoil me. <;3 There is usually little I can do to combat this, so I usually counter by washing all the dishes and cleaning everything, since both of them are so busy with work and taking care of Haley and such.

We went to a park for a walk and the food is in the oven. :D I’m driving back to WV tomorrow to partake in “Orphan Thanksgiving” at my friend’s place, and Saturday is playing piano for/feasting at church, followed by a mini road trip to Maryland for a concert with my neighbor, so I guess we will be studying…in the car and on Sunday for our practical. haha. :X

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
