Fish Ball Noodle Soup

If you've ever stopped by at a streetside eatery in the streets of Hong Kong, you've likely seen this on the menu! Try making it on your own at home!

Ingredients

  • drizzle of sesame oil
  • 6-8 fish balls halved
  • 2-3 cups spinach
  • 1 8 oz package egg noodles or 2 bunches from a 16oz package
  • 1 tbsp chicken essence
  • 1-2 cloves garlic minced (optional)

Instructions

  • If fish balls are frozen, soak in hot water (just enough to cover) for ~5-7 minutes, then slice in half.
  • Cook noodles according to package instructions (usually takes 3-4 minutes).
  • Heat a pot on medium heat and add in sesame oil. Add in garlic (if using), spinach, and halved fish balls and sautée for ~3-4 minutes. Add 2 cups of water + chicken essence to the pot.
  • Add in the egg noodles* and serve hot!

Notes

*If you want the noodles to be more al dente, you can quickly rinse them with cold water before adding them.
