Seaweed Sugar Snap Peas

Grab a Book and Cook: We’re playing a little party game at the end of 2017: Grab your nearest cookbook and ReDux the recipe on page 201, 17, 217 – or any combination of the number ‘2017.’

How is it already almost the end of the year?! I’m jumping in on the last Recipe ReDux of the year to play a little cookbook game (since I have an awesome still-growing collection of cookbooks :D…). I went through a number of my cookbooks and ended up deciding on using one of my favorites again–The Malibu Farm Cookbook! (I made a Smoked Salmon Ricotta Scramble from this book last year!)

This was due in part to the fact that I’m on hospital service again (and working through Christmas, joy oh joy :O ). Free time is generally a distant dream when we’re on hospital service and more often that not, we’re super pressed for time, so I was definitely in the market for a simple recipe that didn’t require much time or very many ingredients, and I lucked out with this one!

Less than 5 ingredients and less than a 5-minute prep time? Is this real life? :O (How could I not try this out? :P )

4-Ingredient Seaweed Sugar Snap Peas | @fairyburger

This recipe was adapted from page 201 of The Malibu Farm Cookbook! It’s so quick/simple that it only requires 4 ingredients and you don’t even need to cook them (what what?!). I’ve never made anything with snap peas before, but given how pleasantly simple this was to make, I may have to do more kitchen experiments in the future!

Seaweed Sugar Snap Peas

This Seaweed Sugar Snap Peas recipe makes a great savory appetizer that only requires 4 ingredients and is ready in under 5 minutes!
Prep Time3 minutes
Cook Time2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar snap peas
  • ~1/4 cup seaweed flakes
  • 2-3 tbsp furikake seasoning
  • sprinkle of sea salt

Instructions

  • Trim off the strings of the snap peas, but leave the ends.
  • Place snap peas in a colander and pour ~2-3 cups of hot water over them*.
  • Let the snap peas dry and toss with seaweed flakes + furikake seasoning.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt and serve!
