What’s In My Bag

I’mmm back again with an update on the November Blog Challenge, which I’m really actually using more as writing prompts vs. an actual write-every-day challenge. Feel free to join in! (The more the merrier!) I turned it into a linkup so it’d be easier to follow everyone’s posts! Add your November Blogger Challenge posts to the link above and hop around to see how everyone else is doing! :]

I’m aware that this prompt was actually yesterday’s prompt, but Foodie Friday was yesterday, and I like to avoid double-posting in a single day when I can (it feels less fair to the other days!), so you’ll see #8 on the 11th (my mom’s birthday!). I’m blaspheming, I know.

11/07: What’s In My Bag
My mom loves to travel, and every year (or every other year), she usually has a reunion of sorts with her friends from nursing school in the form of a vacation somewhere. Why am I talking about this and how is this in any way related?!

Because her nursing friends are super awesome, know my favorite color is blue, and tend to give me a present whenever they see me. They say that if/when I meet The One, I am to bring him to Hong Kong so they can decide whether or not they approve of him.

What's In My Bag

What I’m trying to get at is that they gave me this super-spiffy bag. <3

  • ASUS Transformer Prime, which I affectionately refer to as Optimist Prime
You can see a couple of my fingers on its screen. How creepy. :/If wherever I’m going happens to have wireless and I have an idle moment, I tend to like using said idle moment to get stuff done. :O Also, the bag is big enough that if I didn’t have this with me, I’d probably have some kind of review book or a bunch of notes with me. It’d feel somewhat ridiculous to carry around a big bag if I’m only going to have my wallet + keys with me.
  • Food of some kind!
We all know how much my world revolves around food, so this is only to be expected. I don’t like subjecting people to my crankiness when I’m hungry, so I always bring food with me, unless we’re going out just to eat. That particular bar is Skinnygirl’s Chocolate Peanut Butter with Sea Salt, which I received from Tara @ADailyDoseofFit‘s giveaway (thanks again! :).
  • Wallet/Cell Phone Case
(That’s sitting underneath the energy bar.) All it really houses is my ID, credit card and phone.
  • Earbuds
For if I need to talk to people while working on something else. (I actually really hate talking on the phone. ._.)  …Also functions as an excuse to not have to interact with creepers on the bus, because I can pretend I can’t hear them! Not that I can take the bus/any public transportation here, but…in theory.

    • Chapstick
I need to work on a review of this at some point (once I manage to unearth all the other flavors I had), but this chapstick is from MyLipStuff, which is a company that makes chemical-free, natural lip balms that are free of animal testing and are available in virtually any flavor you could possibly want. (For serious, there are 600+ flavors.)The one pictured is a vegan lip balm in Rainbow Sherbet (I love anything fruity, unless it’s papaya), and is a part of their “Charitabalm” collection, where 50% of the proceeds go to support certain charities that MyLipStuff works with. This particular balm supports the Farm Animal Rights Movement. (FARM).
    • Eating Utensils
      This one deserves a zoom-in! :O It contains a fork, a spoon and a pair of chopsticks that you can take apart to fit into its case! :D!I got it in Asia a couple years back and it’s pretty darn awesome. Also saves me from having to waste plastic utensils. >_> I used to have a multi-tool/hobo fork (my former neighbor’s words, not mine), but I can’t find it at the moment. ;_;

  • Pens
As a med student, I am subject to lots of free hospital swag because residency programs are awesome. I basically get my yearly office supplies from Hospital Day and conferences. <3
  • Hand Sanitizer
    More hospital swag!
  • Cell Phone Stand
I got this super-spiffy contraption from the Family Medicine conference I went to early this year. I put my old phone on it just to demonstrate how it can just kinda hang out there off the table, if you don’t want to put it down.

Technically, keys are in there too, but yeah.

  • Do you have a favorite bag? Where did you get it from?
  • What’s something that you’d never leave home without?
  • What’s the most surprising/interesting thing you carry around with you?

I turned this into a linkup! If you’d like to join in on the November Blogging Challenge, feel free to link up your post here! :]

    1. That bag (assuming it’s the one I’m thinking about) is pretty darn awesome. :O Makes me wanna get one just so I’ll have an excuse to go backpacking. >_>

I’m sorry I missed your calls yesterday. D: Will try to call later today?

  2. Ahhhh that Transformer image is amazing. I have two little boys we live in a transformer world. My purse is just a disaster I have at least 3 bars of sorts, phones, 47,000 pens and at least 3 wadded up old gums from the boys. It’s a mess I would be scared to show it off. Yours looks so neat and contains just the right stuff!
