2017 GFAF Expo Recap

Goodness, it’s been a rough week. (Mostly self-imposed, but still.)Ā If you recall my post on the 2017 GFAF Expo, I did indeed get to go to that the weekend before this last one! I had just come out of a 25-hour shift, so I was a tad loopy, so here’s my 2017 GFAF Expo Recap (finally)!

Disclaimer: This is a half-ish sponsored post in the sense that I got free admission into the expo, but I missed all the bloggy goodness that happened on Saturday because of my aforementioned 24-hour shift, so it’s really me just sharing the wealth in terms of tasty finds! :P

I was super happy to find Brazi Bites again! I’m normally not even a huge fan of cheese, but my goodness, their stuff is so good. *-* I’ve tried all 4 flavors (Cheddar & Parmesan, Garlic Asiago, Zesty Pepper Jack, and 3 Cheese Pizza). You can’t go wrong with any of em’. So glad they recently opened a Whole Foods near me so I can actually get my hands on some! :P

I’m normally not a huge advocate of packaged foods, but there are some things I’ll make exceptions for.Ā I reallyyyy liked Hilary’s Spicy Veggie Sausages! (I don’t have very many food restrictions other than potential lactose intolerance, but these are corn, dairy, egg, gluten, nut and soy-free!)

I also got to try some of Go Macro’s bars! Their products are USDA organic, certified vegan, clean, raw, and gluten-free. I like that their company believes in sustainable living and giving back to the community too! My favorite was their Ginger Lemon, but if you want a bar where you can actually taste the lavender, you need to try their Blueberry Lavender bar!

Ethel’s Baking Co makes some crazy-amazing deliciousness. I adored their Turtle Dandy bars. *-*

Trish and I also discovered a corner booth–Lakonia Greek Products! We have a weakness for olive oil-related things and fresh herbs, so we stuck around for a while. You can only find em’ at expos or online, so good thing we managed to find them here! :D

One of my favorite candy finds was Unreal Chocolate Snacks! They’re like the healthified version of M&Ms and Reeses Pieces, which is a definite plus for me since I’ve been known to pound down Reese Pieces like nobody’s business. They have Dark Chocolate PB or Almond Butter cups as well as Milk Chocolate Gems, Dark Chocolate Peanut Gems, and Dark Chocolate Crispy Quinoa Gems, but my favorite was their Crispy Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. :D!

The photobooths are always a lot of fun (thanks, Sunbutter! :P )! I tried sunflower butter for the first time several years ago and it’s a great alternative if you’re allergic to nuts and/or want a change from the regular nut butters!

I’ll be honest–I gravitated toward this one because the logo was so cute and because I love adventures outdoors! Munk Pack makes on-the-go snack packs that are non-GMO, gluten-free and vegan. I tried their Peach Chia Vanilla Oatmeal Fruit Squeeze and it was super tasty!

As with during Expo East, after a whole lot of snacks, you start to crave some greens in your life. I was pretty ecstatic to find Garlic Expressions! They’re Linda’s favorite salad dressing of all time and she stocks up on this stuff due to worries that Kroger will stop carrying them all of a sudden.

Gluten Free Gloriously is a bakery located in Stirling, NJ, that, after trying this amazing dessert, I’m definitely going to have to trek out to at some point. *-*

I also found an awesome company called Kiss Freely that makes beauty/skin care products geared toward people with allergies! All their products are free of the 8 major allergens and they avoid other ingredients with potential allergens, including sesame, shea butter, peas, coconut, avocado and sunflower seed.

I let Trish talk me into getting a “face tattoo.”

Their products are named by the founder’s two daughters (they love Disney) and if you want a custom color, you can just send em’ a photo and they’ll make that for you free of charge (what what?!). I got to try out their Candy Pink Lip Gloss and their new face paint (just in time for Halloween!). Their body butter is super hydrating!

  • Do you have any food restrictions?
  • What looks the best to you out of all the things I found?! :O

  1. Well that just looks like a really fun (and yummy) time, dude. I want those Brazi Bites in my life! And your face tat made my day.:D

I’m just a little lactose intolerant (I can still eat cheese and ice cream, ummm), but other than that, I have absolutely no restrictions.

    1. My friend wanted me to “Mike Tyson” my face with a tattoo and my sleep-deprived self decided to agree, haha. Good thing it turned out okay!?

I definitely need to pick up those Brazi Bites sometime–they’re so good!! I’m a tad lactose intolerant as well, but thankfully can still enjoy too! <3

  6. Oh, that Unreal candy looks awesome. I just love chocolate but I really try and avoid it since I’m working on being as healthy as I can. It looks like such a fun event – thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely have to come back to this post to see what I can find around me to try.
